Mr. Saxberg is a partner with the firm, practicing in the areas of complex commercial litigation, pension law, labour/employment law, utility regulation, child protection, and entertainment/music law. He articled with the firm and was called to the Bar in 1999. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Saxberg worked in broadcasting and politics and was a musician. As a graduate studies student at The University of Manitoba he completed The Manitoba Legislative Internship Program.
Mr. Saxberg is an experienced trial lawyer. He has appeared in all levels of court in Manitoba, The Court of Appeal in Alberta, and The Federal Court of Appeal.
Mr. Saxberg and Brian J. Meronek, Q.C. recently completed a 13 week pension trial in which their clients won a $100 million judgment against a major Manitoba corporation. This judgment is the largest award made by a Manitoba court in a commercial litigation to our knowledge.
Mr. Saxberg also has extensive experience appearing before administrative and regulatory tribunals such as The Manitoba Public Utilities Board, The Canadian Industrial Relations Board, and the Municipal Board to name a few.
Mr. Saxberg is the labour lawyer for Telecommunications Employees Association of Manitoba - International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, Local 161 (TEAM). TEAM is the management union at MTS Allstream Inc. He is also the lawyer for the Consumers Association of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. and the Manitoba Society of Seniors, representing residential consumers of Natural Gas in Manitoba at hearings setting natural gas rates.
