Mr. Filkow enjoys a broad practice providing counsel to members of Winnipeg's business community. Mr. Filkow's respected professional abilities developed out of lengthy service to a clientele which encompasses the commercial, industrial and professional sectors. Whether advice is sought with respect to an internal management concern or a major dispute with a third party, Mr. Filkow's breadth of experience enables him to bring a valuable "big picture" perspective to the matter.
In his practice, Mr. Filkow is called upon to address business issues arising in the context of contractual disputes, acquisition and sale transactions, the negotiation of partnership and shareholder agreements, employee relations, regulatory matters and marital property conflicts. Mr. Filkow has appeared before the Courts at all levels and has represented the interests of his clients before numerous administrative tribunals.
Mr. Filkow began his career with the firm Arpin & Company, which subsequently merged with the firm McJannet Rich. In 1994 he was part of a merger with D'Arcy & Deacon.
He more recently applied his skills to the drafting of The Gaming Control Act on behalf of the Province of Manitoba.
